Memorial Day Weekend

We lucked out on weather BIG TIME this Memorial Day weekend. The forecasts called for rain, rain and more rain. But we packed up everything anyways and headed out to the Little Naches area. We never even had to use our tarps the whole 3-day weekend! It was barely sprinkling when we pulled into our campsite but stopped completely when we unloaded our gear. Then it maybe sprinkled 3 times over the next 3 days and hardly enough to even put a hat on for. On Monday when we were packing up, it started dumping as we pulled out of our campsite. Talk about good timing. When we got back over the mountains, we found out that it had rained ALL weekend long. I'm SOOO glad we got out of town and got to have fun riding and camping in the mountains. We had a pretty big group of people come out this year, but we had to separate from some of them after the first night because of some losers that camped near us that blasted music at 3am and kept everyone awake for at least an hour or two. Our 2nd campsite was better than the first! Right on the river and far more peaceful.
We got to do some fun stuff while we were out there even though it was overcast most of the time. Of course we did quite a bit of dirtbiking! The trails were crazy sloppy and muddy! We also went to Boulder Caves area and hiked up on the huge washout on Highway 410 near the town of Naches. I had seen pictures of it from the news last fall but seeing it in person was absolutely amazing. The whole mountain came down and completely re-routed the Naches River.

Evan's Creek 4x4-ing

Jaime and I also added another vehicle to our flock not too long ago. We got a 1985 Bronco II. It's been great for taking camping so far this spring and we also took it out 4x4-ing to Evans Creek. It did surprisingly well for a stock Bronco! I was pretty impressed. We even had to pull out a Jeep that got stuck in the snow. ha ha! We did add a little dent to the front, but oh well.

Here's a good view of the new dent we put in the front next to the headlight.

Me with Mt. Rainier in the background. I love that mountain.

Chevelle project

Jaime and I scrounged up some spare cash and bought ourselves a 1968 Chevelle. It runs and drives, but needs some serious cosmetic work. It'll be a slow project but we'll get it looking better. Then who knows what we'll do with it....we may keep it and continue to restore it, or sell it and make some good money on it. It really makes me miss my Camaro and I'm always browsing Craigslist looking for my next. Only time will tell when I'll be able to have another (nicer) one.

Carbon the kitten

Andra and Dustin got a new kitten!!! His name is Carbon which has already turned into many nicknames and he is seldomly called 'Carbon'. He is SO CUTE!! He was a tiny little guy when they first got him a couple months ago and he's already growing into a 'big' kitten.

Update is Due

Wow....I really need to update this!! We've been up to lots of fun stuff so far this spring/summer season. I've got updates all written out and will post with pictures as soon as I can!

Here's a recent picture of me and Jaime. We realized we were wearing matching outfits (unplanned) so we took a picture!
