Supercross 2010

Supercross was a lot of fun this year! But then again, it always is! Although Ryan Dungey already clinched the championship for 2010, it was still a good race and my favorite rider (Kevin Windham) won the heat AND the main event race! Jaime and Dustin went to Qwest field all day with their pit passes while Andra and I went and had a sister date and went to a movie, lunch, and some shopping. Once we got to Qwest field, we found out Jaime and Dustin actually got to meet Kevin Windham and get autographs from him and other riders. I kind of regretted not going earlier! I would've loved to meet him! Oh well, there's always next year. It was freezing cold but we came prepared with blankets this time. It was a great night!

Me shooting Dustin for trying to mess up all my pictures.

The supercross track was awesome!

Awww....smooches. Dustin STILL being a dork.

Dirtbiking!!

Since I got my new bike, we've gone riding just about every single weekend. I fall in love with that bike all over again each time I ride it. I wish I would've gotten it months sooner. I'm actually learning how to jump now too which is really fun and exciting to me. I've been very hesitant to jump since I first started riding because I got really hurt the two times that I tried to learn. But now I'm making good progress and haven't crashed once.
Dustin's brother Bryan came and visited from Nebraska for a weekend and we were able to take him out riding in a big group.
Bon came riding with us a couple weekends ago! She's been wanting to learn to ride for quite a while so she doesn't have to just stay back at camp when we're riding, but hasn't been able to because of her knee issues. Well she came with us and did awesome!! (partly because I'm such a good teacher =) jk) She liked it and will be getting her own bike hopefully soon!

Bon riding around the track.

I'm so excited for this summer to go riding at Naches with the new bike. It's way lighter in weight and has way more power so it's going to make things very interesting. We hope to be out riding Naches almost every weekend this summer.

Green River Gorge

I love the green river gorge! It's a very special place to Jaime and me. It is where we had our first date and spent the majority of our time the week before he left on his mission. We haven't been able to make it back there too many times during the summers because of what we call "gorge nazis" (crazy meth heads armed with hedge clippers who are hired by the land owner to keep people out). But they aren't out guarding the entrance during the other seasons. One day a bunch of us decided it'd be a fun little hike to go down there and hang out. As soon as we pulled up and parked, it started DUMPING rain.....like buckets and buckets of rain. But we went anyways and it was still a lot of fun!

Hiking down to the gorge.

Hanging out in the cave under the waterfall.

Getting a drink.....and getting soaked!

Mt. Hood snowboarding trip

Timberline, Mt. Hood
One of the best things for me to "de-stress" is snowboard!! The mountains always calm me down and make me feel at piece. We (me, Jaime, Bon, Brent, and Aaron) were able to go to Timberline, Mt. Hood in Oregon for the weekend and we couldn't have asked for better conditions! The week before they got a couple of inches of new snow each day. Then on Saturday it was clear blue skies....every snowboarder or skiers dream day. Fresh powder and the most amazing views from over 8,000 feet. The upper lift (Palmer express) was open and the view from the top is worth the lift ticket alone.
We found some amazing back country spots that were the most fun snowboarding I've ever done. huge jumps and cornices to jump off of and deep deep light powder. We even found a natural 1/2 pipe.
After a full 7 hour day of snowboarding (with only one 15 min break to scarf down some food) we headed back to Gresham to our hotel. We all spent a good hour or so soaking our sore muscles in the hot tub and then ate lots and lots of pizza.
View of Mt. Hood from the parking lot on a perfect blue bird day.

Bon and I got lost in the back-country and had to hike out in this deep powder for about 45 minutes.
This is WHY we were in the back-country! Amazing jumps and cornices.

Some nice people built us a sweet jump. How nice of them!

Aaron hitting one of the jumps. His hair is out of control. Nice aviators.

Jaime going off one of the jumps.

Me coming down Palmer snowfield. I had just sprayed Aaron with a wall of snow. I hope that was your waterproof camera.....

Jaime and I at the top of Palmer Express! What an amazing view. 8,540 feet above sea-level.
