This last weekend, my Dad was having his Boeing company picnic at a huge farm out in North Bend. So Jaime, Andra, Dustin, Brent, Mom, Dad and I all went out to the picnic for endless amounts of free food and the most AMAZING view. The farm was just at the base of Mt. Si so you can imagine how beautiful it was. Sorry I didn’t take a picture. After the picnic, Jaime parted his own way and headed up to the Evergreen Speedway to go to his beloved Drift Fest. The rest of us stuck around the North Bend area. We decided to go up the Middle Fork road for a scenic drive. Once we got up there, we explored a new campground and played around near the river. We also went on a short hike where this really cool bridge was built over the Middle Fork River. I’ve never seen such a sweet looking bridge in the middle of the woods! When we first went over it at the beginning of the hike, I thought to myself “this is a cool bridge…I’d like to jump off of it.” Too bad I didn’t bring my swimsuit! As we hiked, I continued to kick myself for not bringing my suit or a towel. It started to rain so we turned around fairly soon into the hike. When we got back to the bridge, I couldn’t help the urge. I decided to jump in fully clothed. Surprisingly, it wasn’t even that cold! But I misjudged the depth and slammed my feet into the rocks and then landed flat on my back against the bottom of the river. Turns out the water was only about 7 feet deep. Luckily I landed just right so that I didn’t seriously injure myself. I’m very glad that I did it even though I didn’t have my suit. Who knows when I’d have the opportunity to jump that bridge again. I was able to borrow a dry sweatshirt from my mom so that my ride home wasn’t as uncomfortable. I just wish the weather had been a bit warmer.

You always have to give in to those urges to jump off bridges. Just make sure the water is deep enough! ha!
